Happy New Year

We thought that starting your new year off with a "bang" would be the way to go with the first
picture of 2007.  This shot was taken by Dee Gibson at the Rockford Airshow last summer.
 It shows her husband Rich Gibson of Rich's Incredible Pyro talking to the over-flying FA-18
while giving instructions to Susan Rippinger who got the opportunity to "blow" the wall of fire.
 John Rippinger is just there for arm candy! You are looking at 500 gallons of aviation fuel
(100 five gallon plastic bags) laid out over 1000 feet and ignited with dynamite squibs
attached to the plunger. An interesting note is that Rich holds the Guinness World's Record
for the longest wall of fire - 3600 feet!
